Fourtet

Soul Jazz Records are bringing together today's most pioneering producers for a compilation that is post-dubstep, post-house, post everything. Future Bass features tunes from Four Tet (pictured), Mala, Untold, Black Chow (Kevin Martin’s latest project), Coki and loads more all-exclusive new tracks. Nicole at Soul Jazz gives us a bit more insight into the project...

What, to you, is future bass?
The compilation to us is a selection of dancefloor tunes from new up-and-coming producers such as Distal, Ginz, Harry Craze and V.I.V.E.K alongside established artists such as Mala, Four Tet, Untold and Coki who are known for their deeper and more innovative production and who are continually pushing boundaries and experimenting with every release.

How did you go about choosing the artists that appear on the album?
The majority of the artists featured on the compilation we've worked with in the past on various other projects and have always been big fans of their output. We're always looking to stock their latest releases in our shop Sounds of The Universe in Soho and are lucky that a lot of the producers pass by. The newer artists featured such as Distal and Randomer have been sending us their music for some time now and we're quick to check their productions but it was all about waiting for the right tracks that we felt suited this compilation.

When is it being released and on what formats?
The album is being released in September on CD, 3x12" LP and digital download.

Tell us more about the first single taken from it...
The first single is a massive double header from Four Tet and Mala. Two top genre defining producers, both highly respected within their own fields. What better way to introduce the album and its diversity with these killer release?

Anything else you want to tell us about?
There will be a second single sometime after the album from Untold which features a exclusive new cut which will not appear on the album, watch this space!
