Solace Records  is a new label from the Silk camp. Solace have had releases from Clubroot eleven8 & The Hybridz so far, and are establishing a name for themselves within the deeper, more experimental side of bass music. We chatted to Stole and Solitude from the label, and Solitude hits us with a guest mix.

Please let us know who you are and what each of you do for the label.
I'm Solitude and I look after a&r for the label…Hi I'm Stole and I look after licensing and manufacturing etc. However we don't have specific roles as such, whatever needs doing we share out the duties and get on with it.

What are the origins of the label?
It's a deep understanding of our musical influences alongside our intuition that makes us release the music we do. We really respect the music we release and stand by it, if it's captivating and different you can always find us backing it 100%...

What are your inspirations for setting up the label?

Our inspirations for setting up the label stemmed for very different reasons, we play individual specific roles that are vital to the labels evolvement.

 

But at the end of the day it’s definitely the music that inspires us, we share a passion for emotive and experimental music and get excited when we hear fresh tracks with good sound and a solid vibe. If we hear music that fits within our ethos, and has these elements meshing we are only too happy to release it.

Tell us about the next release for Solace?

Next release after Eleven8's 12” will be two tracks from Nickbee, one alongside Malk and both featuring vocals from Zelda Marshall.

 

And what are some of the other tracks which you are dropping?
The first preview of Full Casual & Brais Larkin feat. Intimate – 'Feel' is featured in the guest mix.. there's a great remix coming from 'Congi' as well.

 

Marina Faib – 'Somewhere Far Away' will be seeing the light of day very soon, with a new remix of Marina's 'The Silence' alongside it. That's about all we're giving away at the moment.

 

Can you tease up Solitude’s guest mix a little for us?
Sure, plenty of dark vibes in there from the likes of Kaiju, Biome, Kryptic Minds. Plus a load of names you usually find in Solitude's tracklists: Clubroot, Eleven8, Kahn, Marina Faib.
