Mike Paradinas' experimental imprint Planet Mu is one of the busiest underground labels around and they've just announced their album schedule for the first part of 2010, so we spoke to label manager Marcus Scott to find out what's in store.
First up on March 1st is The Internal Tulips' Mislead Into A Field By A Deformed Deer: "This is a collaboration from two Mu IDM veterans that's based around sixties pop, think late Beach Boys and Beatles digitally transformed into something more modern and strange."
Planet Mu have become renowned for their dubstep output in recent years so it's no surprise that their next two albums are Vex'd's Cloud Seed on 22nd March and Starkey's Ear Drums And Black Holes on 19th April: "Vex'd's amazing long awaited follow up to early dubstep album 'Degenerate' finally gets a posthumous release, one of the best new dubstep albums of the year, recorded around four years ago. Starkey's second album is a tour de force, a mixture of brilliant songs, and dubstep epics this is an incredible album that totally defies expectations. Single due out early March followed by this album."
After that it's Rudi Zygadlo's Great Western Laymen on 3rd May: "Rudi Zygadlo is a brand new artist who's created his own unique form of pop music that takes elements of dubstep, pop and indie and blends them into a new form, which sounds perfectly natural. This is totally fresh and completely unexpected, one to watch this year for sure. Single due out at the end of March followed by this album."
Finally, expect a bit of drum & bass in the shape of 0=0's Punctuality on 31st May: "0=0 is an artist from Toronto whose album will bring something special back to the much maligned drum & bass scene with his energetic, fun sound. Single due out in April followed by this album."
