Rise Audio are coming out with their sixth release, a various artists EP featuring names from their ever-expanding line-up. We went in with main man Kulak to find out more.

Hi Kulak, how are you? We are talking about the new Rise Audio release, so tell us more about the tracks on RA006.
I am well thanks, I have been very busy with running the label and am really excited with the latest release. The RA006 release is a four track EP just released and available now from all good music stores worldwide. It is the latest in our series of various artist EPs, bursting with a wealth of talent from the UK and across the globe. There are three new tracks including a first collab from Mefjus & L 33, Kung, Dextems and a first remix for the label from Allied.

You’re really gone for variety on this release – was this a consideration when picking the tracks?
Yes... We had a few different yet strong bits signed, and decided that they worked well together on an EP. Our various artist EPs are a great way of showcasing the diversity of both our artists and the tracks on the label as a whole.

You’ve got an international lineup of artists – tell us more about the guys on the release.

The artists on the RA006 EP are from a variety of different nations. Mefjus is from Austria and has recently exploded onto the scene, he has a fantastic attitude towards his creations and we expect a bright future for this rising star. L33 is a young talent from Bulgaria who just keeps delivering well thought out production track after track and his collab with Mefjus is no exception... Russian duo, Dextems continue to unleash their take of drum & bass and their featured track 'Radium' has been having devastating effects on the dance floors worldwide. Kung is another new signing hailing from Granada, Spain. His debut track Misuse is a great example of futuristic synthesis that delivers movement and funk from the heart. The final track is an Allied remix of Dextems ‘Hidden Path’ which was featured on RA002 EP. In typical Allied fashion they have rolled it out to be progressive, subtle yet deadly with the second drop having a huge impact on your nervous system. All these artists have forthcoming productions scheduled with Rise Audio and we plan to keep the label running as a tight knit crew.

What’s the label’s background and philosophy?
The Rise Audio label was formed simply as an outlet for quality drum and bass. Since then we have had a series of vinyl and and digital releases from artists on the label such as Audio, Billain, Cause4Concern, Allied, and The Sect. We have also been running Rise Audio label events in London, Bristol, Brighton and abroad with guests like Tech Itch, Black Sun Empire and last year we brought over Billain for his debut UK performance. The label has naturally grown and recently we have had new producers coming through, further progressing the sound of the label. Releasing only tracks we believe in 100% we aim to build a solid and collectable catalogue that will still sound fresh in years to come. Over the last two years we have gained an overwhelming amount of support from artists, DJs and fans and a loyal global following, which is great, this means a lot to us and is inspiring to keep on doing what we do.

Can you give us any upfront news on artists you are going to be working with in the near future?
We have new music coming from lots of our current artists including Audio, Billain, Allied, Dextems, Mefjus... and also exciting new material coming from our most recent additions to the label L 33, Kung and Minor Rain. Allied will be launching the Rise Audio podcast with the first edition coming pretty soon...
