Please introduce yourself...
Futurebound from Viper Recordings
What have been the highlights of 2009 for you?
The Acts of Mad Men LP we've just released. It's great to see people loving it after all the hard work we've put in. It was a big look Zane Lowe making it his Radio 1 album of the week considering the amount of music that guy has at his disposal. Oh yeah, smashing the Mancs 4-1 was also highly amusing.
What have been the highlights of the decade for you?
The birth of my little boy Zac in 2007, going to Istanbul and watching us pick up European Cup number five in 2005 and starting Viper in 2003.
How have things changed for you over the last ten years?
I've become a more all-round producer and a lot more business minded since the turn of the new century. Back then I was just an artist releasing tracks on various labels. These days I feel I'm really making things happen both for my own career and for the artists on Viper. And as the decade has progressed my DJing's got busier and busier, so I couldn't ask for any more really as DJing was the reason for me getting into this whole thing.
What have you been doing recently?
This year I've been on serious remix duty. In fact I've done an album's worth of remixes with Matrix.
Which artists should we look out for in 2010?
Watch out for the ShockOne LP in 2010, as well as blinding new music from Metrik, DC Breaks, Camo & Krooked and our new signings Furlonge and Smooth. Other artists in the scene to watch out for are people like Culture Shock, Delta Heavy, Dharma Intent and Interface amongst others.
What are your plans for 2010?
I really can't wait to get crackin' in 2010. It's going to be full steam ahead again, and the aim for next year is to go up a notch or ten. Kicking off the year on Viper we've got the DC Breaks Halo EP, a Camo & Krooked EP, ShockOne's LP and EPs from Furlonge and Metrik. There will also be a new LP from Matrix & myself which should drop at the back end of 2010.
As well as all that we've got new singles from Body & Soul, KG, Smooth, NC-17 & Nusense, Delta Heavy and Dharma Intent on our sister label Viper V.I.P which has been going really well.
