South coast d&b label Good News Boppers have recently launched a new venture, sister label Liquid Boppers. We give you a little background on the label, and info on what they've got planned next.
Good News Boppers was started back in August 2012 releasing drum & bass and future jungle. The aim was to release all breaks and d&b-related music from liquid to jungle whilst not sticking to music that sounded like everything else out there but music that we liked “something a little different” as the motto goes. The label has gone from strength to strength, featuring in Mixmag and on d&b radio stations and also releasing music from producers who run their own labels notably Polish talents Self Definition & Yankowsky of Monochrome Recordings and from Mexico Blok One/Rainforest co-founder of SoulRidaz.
In April the label had its first number 1 on Trackitdown with Beat Rapist – Jungle Fever EP with the Beat Rapist having firmly built a strong reputation within the 140bpm future jungle scene, being sought after by other labels but staying committed to Good News Boppers. Another artist whom is now being recognised and getting name dropped is Radioactive Watermelon a producer whom makes the 'most blissful atmospheric 140 jungle'.
The label can now announce that later in the year a sister label Liquid Boppers will be launched featuring some top names within the liquid scene whilst Good News Boppers stays focused on promoting new emerging talent releasing jungle, neuro and everything in between from producers all over the world.
The label say that the decision to launch Liquid Boppers is that as the label was growing it became harder to target an audience for what we at Good News Boppers were releasing so it made perfect sense, it’s also fairer on the producers that we promote as even though the releases will be as frequent as ever the fact that it will be done under two labels means that we can now spend more time promoting each release before the next big release comes along.
The future plans for Good News Boppers are to start running nights along the south coast to get the name out there even more and perhaps a vinyl release.
