Due to the current climate Phantasy's Easy Records recently announced they're going digital and will only release a few special 12"s on vinyl each year.
"This will also help us to release more quality product into the market at a much cheaper price for the consumer," says Phantasy. "We will always try to maintain the high standards we have over the years but this will also give us a chance to get new artists onto the roster and help them to get a footing into the scene."
Easy have an album coming by one of their budding young DJ / producers going by the name of DJ Levela. Out before the end of the year it will be a digital album and will feature tracks like 'Dubstyle VIP' ft. MC Fun, 'Stamina VIP', 'Stark Ravin' Mad' and 'F**kin Clownstep'. There will also be a podcast available in the build up to the release with many other free downloads available on their site or iTunes.
On promo in the next few weeks is a 12" release from Bluefoot who appeared on Heist's label this year. The two tracks, 'Knowledge' & 'Hordak', have been getting a great response in the clubs and this is the first release from the guys on Easy.
Devotion, Easy's regular monthly event @ Concorde 2 in Brighton is still going strong on the fourth Saturday of each month. Devotion will be hosting an arena at Innovation's NYE event in London @ Fire in Vauxhall, London. Innovation will be doing their thing with a full on DJ & MC showcase but Devotion are going to concentrate on letting the music do the talking. "We will have MCs on the night but they will only be host MCs. We already have SP:MC booked and MC IC3 will be hosting in our arena as well," says Phantasy.
"Next year we are going to be operating a policy where we let the music do the talking," continues Phantasy. "For many years Devotion has been one of the forefront events to showcase the MCs and we were the first, alongside Pyromaniacs, to actually put the MCs on the front of the flyer but recently we have noticed that a lot of parties have adopted this policy.
"Being a party that wants to stand out from the rest we've decided to go with the music first policy. We will still use the MCs who performed for us over the years but instead of having them all on the one line-up we will spread them out over the course of the year. We also want to have each DJ play longer sets so they can really express themselves."
