Alien Pimp

The experimental side of drum & bass has grown of late, but versatile producer and label owner Silviu Costinescu, aka Alien Pimp, is taking his experiment to the next level.

His label, Dubkraft Records has been relaunched, and is set to release drum & bass, dubstep, and some fascinating various tempo bass music.

"Our slogan at Dubkraft is bass, spirit and character," Silviu told us, "and we can feel all of these aspects in other genres of music.

"I'm always getting bored, and with the scene constantly evolving, we can now have some serious fun, releasing different types of quality music with bass, spirit and culture.

"Running a record label for me is about offering people something different, and now we can do that on a much greater scale."

The 34-year-old treats each production as far more than just a tune, and with each Dubkraft release comes a musical offering from a different genre.

"Each release is a little exhibition, where we can showcase something the listener may not have otherwise heard or seen. If fusing musical genres, why limit yourself to simply sound? We are focusing a lot on the artwork side of things too.

"We like the surprise factor at Dubkraft, so keep your eyes and ears open for some unexpected releases in 2010," he added.
