Rusty

Leandro Henrique D'Silva, aka DJ Rusty, is yet another name from the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Beginning his career back in 2000, he has built a reputation with live appearences in Chile, Argentina and Colombia as well as the UK. He's the owner of Promo Audio Recordings, and has now branched out with a new label, Love Hurts Records, which will be offering digital sales. We found out more from Rusty here.

Hey Rusty, how are you? Tell us about your labels, how they got started, and what they are all about.

I'm fine thanks! Hope all crew from Kmag are going good!

My first label started in 2005 called "Promo Audio recordings" and I started doing releases on vinyl 12”s. Four vinyl releases came out from Rusty (myself), Bane (Rawtee), Dose (Funtcase), Dub Alley and Acuna.

After this period I started the releases in digital format because of the great sales in MP3 format, today I have a unique digital label called "Love Hurts Records" with distribution from Cygnus music. We’ve got 16 releases already available in all stores with great artists like: Angel & Spider, Riddle, Triphonic, Isaac Maya , Rusty , Andrezz and many more!

What have been some of your releases in the past?

My last release was the label Federation S Records (DJ Sonna) with my hit "Scoundrel" played by many DJs around the world and with massive support from Dj Marky who made the music happen in Brazil.

After so many singles and my brand new EP on Love Hurts Records "It's Hurts EP part.1" with great songs. "Smoke One" is also being played by big DJs like: Xrs, Marky, Andy C and many others.

And have you got some new releases to tell us about?

Yes .. I'm already preparing my new EP and some singles that I'll be very soon in stores around the world. I think everyone will like!

What’s your own career path been like?

Started in the drum n bass scene in 2000 listening to many radio programs, going into drum & bass parties and having the desire to become a DJ... everything was magical and I wanted to be part of it all!

10 years’ DJing and 6 years’ producing, I’vealready played in major festivals in Brazil as "Marky & Friends", "Spirit Of London", "Movement" alongside great artists like: Hype, Twisted Individual , Funtcase ,Sub Zero, Dillinja, Breakneck,Triphonic , Elerreme, Unreal Project and great friends from Brazil – Marky, Xrs, Patife, Level 2,Marnel, Kaiba , Andrezz , Unreal , Chap, Nitri and many more!

I've been doing tours in many countries and hope to play in many other places too! This November and December I'm back to Venezuela, it's gonna be sick!
