House producers Sylvain Garcia and Christian Blomert recently unveiled touchAble, an app that turns your iPad into a multi-touch Ableton Live controller. The app is coming soon to the App Store and will be available at an introductory price of only €13.99.

"I've used a bunch of hardware controllers on tour, in any kind of configuration and situation, I know what I'm talking about, touchAble is the one that I've been dreaming of," says Garcia. "There is a lot of discussion about analogue versus digital, tactile versus multi-touch. I own a few amazing and antique pieces of analogue, but for me talking about that is just a waste of time. Multi-touch is fantastic, I love to be able to visualize under my fingers all the details of parameters I'm using, and to have the opportunity to use it everywhere in any kind of situation."

touchAble does not require any midi-mappings as it uses LiveOSC to communicate directly with the LiveAPI.
