The Impact Twin by TC Electronic is a brand new, highly compact audio interface.
Compatible with Mac and PC, the Impact Twin uses TC's trademarked Impact III Technology.
Impact III probably means nothing to most music producers, but knowing that TC Electronics have a long history of producing vocal hardware, we can assume that the twin pre amps inside the Impact Twin aren't bad.
Impact Twin has 24/192 HD conversion - a higher bit and sample rate than many professional electronic producers use - four I/O, plus S/PIDF, MIDI I/O and two firewire connections:

TC Electronic are marketing this as a rugged and take anywhere device, so if you're the kind of person that moves around a lot or someone with a small project studio, you're the target audience.
Knowledge thinks there are plenty of people who don't move around that would also want a device like this.
Other than having Mic/Line inputs and phantom power for condenser microphones, the Impact contains special Channel Tools software that allow the user to quickly, simply and invisibly tame and enhance signals with onboard EQ, compressor, reverb, tuner, filter and de-esser:

The Impact Twin also has a special feature called iCheck [integrity check], that provides a shortcut for revealing any artifacts caused by data reduction, which is (according to TC) essential when encoding MP3 or AAC files.
