Allen & Heath have a very high reputation in the music production, engineering and DJ world.

A british company, Allen & Heath, like similar American and Japanese businesses, tend not to manufacture via cheap labour in Taiwan or China, and so are aimed at the discerning consumer who demands quality and build reliability.

The fact that Allen & Heath mixers can be found in the world's best clubs tells you all you need to know about the brand.

Following the recent decision by Allen & Heath to alter the colour scheme of its Xone DJ range, leading London nightclub, matter, has installed a new storm-grey Xone:92 in its main DJ booth.

Xone:92 is famous for its powerful resonant filters, its solid EQs and light-pipe interface.

“The Xone:92 is an iconic product, one that I have been working with it for years,” explains Matter’s head of sound, Roberto Pieroni. “It has never let me down, despite having been in the hands of some really tough DJs."

We wonder what Dillinja could do to this beast. "Although very familiar, all the controls on the new colour 92 appear easier to find thanks to a clearer layout and design; for example, the booth level can be more easily distinguished from the mix level. As ever, the sound quality is impeccable.”

The colour change is purely cosmetic, and there are no alterations to the Xone range’s design or performance.

“The best thing about matter’s new Xone:92 is that the new colour perfectly matches our Technics 1210s!” concludes Roberto.

Here's a link to the Xone range on the official Allen & Heath website.

The Xone:92 retails at just shy of £1,000, aimed at clubs. Its cut-down cousins aimed at home DJs and producers obviously bear cut-down prices, like the Xone:42 which retails under £500 and is very similar to the Xone:92 but for less channels.
