We're going right back to 1990 this week. I heard recently that Eon sadly passed away. RIP Eon. This track has left a lasting legacy in the minds of all who witnessed the scene during the latter months of '89 and went heads down stomping straight into 1990. US based acid house was giving way to a more progressive sound that UK producers were offering up to the nation.
The breakbeat was still almost an oddity at this stage, but the rave riff is rearing its head well and truly on this track. Techno orientated, but with less focus on minimalism and more on sample trickery and the bleeps, this track has it all, and along with a handful of others opened up the world of sub bass, a musical entity that drum & bass and jungle before it would not have existed without.
