The Purist - TR-ill EP

The Purist recently dropped the 'TR-ill EP' on King King Holding Co. The EP is a great showcase of his production style and it features a varied roster of guests including man of the moment Danny Brown who completely smashes the projects opener 'Jealousy'. The EP also features the UK's own CAS who delivers a great performance on 'Silian Braille'; this is particuarly impressive considering the fact that he is relatively unknown compared to the rest of the guests on the EP.

With 'Rochefoucauld' we are treated to an eerie sci-fi soundscape, while 'Cold Hearts' (which features Big Twinz, Havoc and Sean Price) has an almost post-apocalyptic feel to it. This cinematic styling is evident throughout the EP and is also reflected in the projects artwork. Be sure to check it out, I hope that it is followed up by a full length LP in the near future.
