1. Rude Kid - London Town Remix (Jack Daniels EP)
Grime has a tendency to at some points, get a little dark, intense and moody. That's nowhere to be found in this pre-pubescent grime vibe, where the drum patterns create a happy place of listening suitable for the biggest of sets and vibe sessions.

2. Dogzilla & Kayla - Mirror Man (A Dog Is For Life...)
Whilst some people may take a while to get used to Dogzilla's distinct style of witty yet aggressive lyrics, this toned down affair shows shades of an early Dogzy, famed for his story-telling, emotional vibes. Point's ultra smooth production combines well with Kayla's well-flowing hook, all fits well with Dogzilla's old-school flow.

3. Skepta (feat. Blacks & P Money) - Spit Big Bars (Been There Done That)
Microphone Champion was never the great CD everyone hoped for, but surely if tunes such as the above had found place on there, listening would've been a more enjoyable experience. This intense track sees Mr Boy Better Know link up with grime's leading collective in a mass gathering of great flows and heavy punchlines with the catchiest of hooks to finish off.

4. Desperado & Cadice (feat. Tinie Tempah) - Roll Girl Remix (All About Money)
Initially released discreetly on iTunes, Desperado's just brought this one out for free and what a banger! Nocturnal's ever distinguishable production is great combination with Desperado and Tempah's confident and almost cocky flows topped off with 101% effort on the hook from Cadice. A must download.

5. Lee Brasco - Eastenders Grind (Winter Jacket EP)
Lee Brasco has taken some stick since his first emergence but with this fresh new promo out, it's hard to fault the East London MC. Eastenders Grind combines a dark production with Brasco's clever remixing of - ermm, characters from the show Eastenders name's. A silly idea executed perfectly.

6. Hammer/Silencer - Royal Rumble (Dub)
Hammer was one of last years most active and exciting artists with three singles and an EP to boast and Silencer was surely the producer of '09. The two of have collaborated on this unique idea - Hammer flowing non-stop over a mixture of hard-hitting Silencer beats. It's clever and intense and what's more keeps me hooked on - more like this from these two and 2010 shall be a good year.

7. Kozzie, Ruger, Little Dee, Mischief, Desperado, Blacks, Wariko & P Money - 8 Bar (Blue State Of Mind)
8 Bar tunes are sadly frowned upon by listeners these days as people search for clever lyricists who can fit a thousand syllables into one sentence. This tune captures a hint of what grime once sounded like, with so many reload points it's ridiculous ! Blacks and Jendor stand-out with the well known bars, each MC brings something different including Nottingham based spitter Wariko who shows it's not just a London affair.

8. Rude Kid (Feat. Terror Danjah) - Best Crawler (Jack Daniels EP)
Two of grime's best producers working together, combining two of their best tunes with added bass on top anyone ? Rude Kid's second offering on No Hats No Hoods throws up this wonderful collaboration between Rude and Terror Danjah, a powerful speaker breaking hybrid of their tunes The Best and Creepy Crawler. If you like bass, you'll love this.

9. Merky ACE & Kozzie - Shock To The System (Blue State Of Mind)
The war culture in grime is looking healthy right now. With Wiley/Trim/P Money/Ghetts all having a go at one another, these promising MCs spent most of 2009 having words with each other over a series of tunes. Now the pair from Lewisham have teamed up, and they've no kind words to say for Maxsta on this infectious Youngsta beat!

10. Desperado, Wariko, Fangol, Little Dee, Blacks & Kid Bookie - Keep On Parring (All About Money)
Those fans who had their ears firmly locked on to Monday night radio last year will know full well who Fangol is. He's the one who jumped on that massive OG's takeover set and tore the building down with wheel after wheel. We haven't heard a lot from the Nottingham MC since, until now where he links up with some of South London's finest to destroy this Z Dot beat.
