Review: SRC - Gold Coinz EP

Fresh from the blaze left on the decks of DJs such as Oneman, Magic, Oil Gang, Butterz and many more who've used his beats in their sets, SRC hits the scene with his debut EP entitled Gold Coinz.

Fresh from the muscially overlooked highrises of Birimingham, SRC infuses the colourful and futuristic sounds of an arcade with the electronic dance components of grime, particulary demonstrated in tracks such as Gold Coinz and Breakdance. Traditional 8-bit video game sampling continues wonderfully in the form of Fantasy Mix, and closing track Lemsip is a DJ favoured melody with its upbeat dance feel.

If you appreciate the futuristic funk attack utilised by producers such as Swindle with an appreciation of the modern dance tones favoured by Rude Kid and Terror Danjah then SRC's riddims are cut out for you! Buy the 12" from Numbers now.
