The Open Earz imprint has got off to an illustrious start. Delving into the infinite permutations of forward-thinking bass heavy music, their first two releases have marked their stake on your attention with top notch EPs from Synkro and Indigo. On the verge of their third release - in the form of Dom Hz's Mist EP - and with plenty more up their sleeves, Kmag caught up with the boys to find out more...

They have also been kind enough to give away a free track, which you can download after the jump. Boom!

Can you briefly introduce yourself?
OpenEarz Recordings is a forward thinking UK based label bringing through the best in bass heavy influenced music of all styles, focusing on the different spheres of inspiration in dubstep music, whether that be techno, house, dub or whatever.

Why did you decide to set up the label?
Mainly as an outlet for some of the quality music that we felt deserves to be out there and heard by everyone, but the idea of setting up a label had been lurking for a little while before we actually put the wheels in motion.

How would you describe the label's music policy?
I wouldn't say we have a strict policy. There's a definite requirement for bass, but that's where the limitations end I'd say.

How does the A&R process work for the label?
We have been privileged to work with some incredibly gifted producers so far and those releases have really come about as result of close relationships with everyone on our roster.

What releases have you got forthcoming?
Up next is EARZ003, the Mist EP, courtesy of up and coming Manchester producer Dom HZ which will be available early June, followed swiftly by EARZ004 which is coming from Bristol's Phaeleh, details of which will be announced on our Twitter, MySpace and Facebook in the next few weeks. There are also releases from Quantum Soul, Mr. Lager and JazzyJazzy lined up for later in the year.

Do you have any plans for any longer releases?
There's plans for an LP in the future, showcasing material from all our artists, but no detail to confirm about that yet...

Do you have any plans for extensions to the label?
We will be launching our sister imprint, OpenEarz Black, in late summer/early autumn of this year which will be an outlet for some darker material. The focus will still be on bass heavy tunes while maintaining a high level of quality control.

To celebrate the release of Earz003 – Mist EP, they are giving away a lovely free track from Dom Hz called Black Diamonds. Cop it direct from here!
