27-year-old dubstep producer KiRKUS recently started two new labels, Execu7ion Records and Mass Execu7ion Records, so we spoke to him to find out more.
You have released a heap of tunes on reputable labels such as Filthy Digital, & Betamorph, what inspired you to start your own label, Execu7ion?
I really had enough of dealing with 15 labels! I decided in December 2009 that I would start my own label, and let them know they had a short amount time to grab my tracks. I produce large quantities so I wanted a label for just me, it means I control everything and can have as many tracks as I like out each month.
Your newly developed sister label, Mass Execu7ion, has you promoting other artists. What do you look for in a producer and tune that makes them worthy of a release?
Jmanic and I have a good ear for tunes. The tracks have to be of high quality and obviously insanely good! We're not looking for run of the mill tracks or producers. Big hard hitting basses with nice drums. Producer wise, they need to have a lot of passion and be able to handle constructive criticism.
What do you want to achieve running two labels simultaneously?
World domination! Just to have two established labels, and taking over the dance floors and airwaves!
What does the future hold for you?
I am looking into an American and European tour for the end of this year and maybe a third label.
