Soul Sessions @ Club Raduno Review

Redeyes

Covering the deeper/ more musical side of the d&b spectrum, Soul Sessions are starting to make waves as promoters to watch on the scene. Kicking off back in May, their first event featured the likes of AI and Tayla, a promising start no less. For their sophomore event at Farringdon's cosy Club Raduno (located slap bang next door to Fabric) they once again recruited a smart selection of liquid orientated DJs to entertain the assembled heads.

With what seemed a fair proportion of students dotted in amongst the ravers, the vibes were friendly and the venue was encouragingly busy as we landed to the sounds of Good Looking veteran Big Bud rolling out with tracks from his excellent new 'Connections' album on the Soundtrax label.

France's Redeyes (pictured) followed with a two hour liquid d&b masterclass, effortlessly weaving 'arms in the air' vocal tunes into his set alongside more subtle and tougher flavours, achieving a perfect balance. With a few classics thrown in for good measure, the dancefloor was kept on it's toes while V Double E and Meshach hosted things up nicely alongside with smooth vocal displays and Sparkie B hyped up the crowd.

Qumulus then stepped up with his own brand of audio deepness but Knowledge was sadly forced to depart as another long weekend of general madness began to take it's toll. Look out for the next instalment of Soul Sessions, coming soon ... and rest assured, we'll be back for more ...
