Drum & bass label Deep Revelations have just released their first EP in January, we spoke to label owner Dean Scott, aka Second Coming, to see what they're all about...
Why have you set up Deep Revelations?
There is so much good drum & bass out there not getting recognition. So many good producers making tracks that I felt were good enough to be released. So I set up the label to do just that, to help them get the recognition they deserve, to get their music released and, ultimately, with the hope of providing a stepping stone to greater things.
Who is involved with running it?
It's just me running the label at the moment. A few of the artists on the label are helping getting things rolling though; for example we have Kemosabe doing all our artwork and everyone is always recommending new producers to me. It's a nice little community going on over here.
What's the ethos behind the label?
To put out drum & bass on the more experimental end of the spectrum, while trying not to alienate the general drum & bass fan.
Is it a digital label or will you release vinyl too?
We're starting off with only digital at first, then hopefully move onto vinyl or CD when the time is right. I feel a lot of our producers are ready for vinyl releases already, so it's definitely a possibility for us.
Can you tell us more about your key artists?
Kemosabe (Thomas Finan from Ipswich) is a great producer making a few different styles of drum & bass, and his Where The Cross Is Made EP, our first release, has just come out.

Another producer we have on the label that really excites me is EW1, Eugeniy for St Petersburg, whose EP will be coming out within the next few weeks. He produces more experimental, minimal drum & bass which I can't get enough of!

Are you looking for more artists and if so where should producers send demos?
We're always on the lookout for new artists that will fit in with the sounds here at Deep Revelations, so if you're a producer who likes to experiment with their drum & bass production, send us your bits!! The best way to send tracks is through AIM: secondcomingdnb or deeprevelations.
Anything else you want to tell us about?
Keep an eye out this year for EPs from our other artists such as Mechanist, Slovar, Tomek N, Anex, D Stress, Silent Mind, Original Ninja, and A Clash.
