We Fear Silence, who currently must be one of the hardest working bunch of promoters at the moment, bring another excellent night to London. This is time round Subloaded will cause some serious carnage at the excellent Corsica Studios.
Subloaded, run by Pinch, along with some trusty friends, and first started out at Black Swan in Bristol, before getting major accreditation. Since then, alongside Bristol, they have hosted parties in London, as well as festival stages at Bloc.
This installment will see Pinch joined by none other than Hyperdub label boss Kode 9. Kode 9 is another DJ who has been a key figure in dubstep, and has sat at the forefront of dubstep for many years. Whether it has been his collaborations with Space, Daddi Gee, or his rather spectacular take on UK funky, virtually every tune he has released has been great. Furthermore, he is the boss of possibly the most important dubstep imprint at the moment. So you can expect a rather momentous DJ set from this kingpin.
He will be joined by co-founder of the now defunct Skull Disco imprint, Shackleton. This artist will be playing a live set of bass heavy, minimal sounding dubstep. Shackleton has long developed his own sound, and much revered in dubstep scene. This is certain to be one hell of a set, as his live sets are constantly getting praise at the moment.
Then we have two veterans of dubstep. First off, Darqwan which is the dubstep moniker for Oris Jay. Oris has long been associated with this genre, having first released some stonking garage releases. More recently, he has been making waves under Darqwan. Then we have RSD, who sometimes goes under the name Rob Smith, as in one half of Smith & Mighty, the seminal dub artists. Currently signed to Punch Drunk, RSD has released some highly acclaimed tunes in the past couple of years, and I'm sure 2010 will see some more epic dubplates from him.
With all that, the founder of Subloaded, Pinch, will also be in the main room, joined by Harry Craze and Unlikely. Sgt. Pokes and Dread MC will be the hosts with the most on the night.
Room two is nothing short of ridiculous. This is possibly the most heavyweight room two I have seen in years. Hosting the second room are The Bug & Loefah! Yes, that's right, The Bug & Loefah. The Bug has done some of the most important collaborations of recent years, with the like of Daddy Freddy, Warrior Queen, Flowdan and others to boot. The Bug specializes in dancehall influenced bass music, but I'm sure you already knew that. Loefah, is of course yet another important figure in dubstep, co-running DMZ, which also needs no introduction. They will be representing their much loved BASH night in room two.
I needn't say that you need to get tickets for this epic event.
