With the summer creeping up upon us all, the search for the great road trip and, possibly, vacation spot is on the mind. With so many choices out there it's hard to pick the right place to go that has it all. Well, look no further than the 2010 Rototom Sunsplash Festival, the biggest reggae festival in Europe!

With last year's festival attracting 140,000 people for the ten day event, this year is sure to near 200,000 as attendees enjoy live music, films, art exhibits, creative workshops; to debates and education on reggae music, rasta culture, meditation, and more.

Rototom is set this year for August 21st - 28th in the port town of Benicassim, Spain which has housed other massive festivals such as Festival Internacional de Benicassim.

The entire port area will be available for festival goers providing all of the amenities of your typical exotic beach resort plus world class live music from some of the greatest reggae, ragga, dancehall and ragga-jungle artists from around the world performing over 250 shows in nine areas of music throughout the ten days.

Rototom recently announced a partial line-up for the festival featuring some of the world's best reggae and dancehall performers such as African reggae legend Alpha Blondy. Other acts divulged on the press release were Jamaican front men Big Youth, a pioneer of the dancehall deejay style, and one of founding members of the Paragons - singer and songwriter - Bob Andy.

Also representing the Jamaican sounds are artists Anthony B, Ginjah, Fantan Mojah and Glen Washington. Finally, representing the best of Italian reggae is Sud Sound System, an 80s band from Salento, who brings explosive dancehall to crowds worldwide while enlightening through the tales of aspiration and struggle in the form of song.

As more and more artists are announced in the following weeks; this year's event is set to be the biggest that Rototom has done in history. You can expect nothing but an increased caliber of performers on this bill, which is saying a lot considering last year's fest brought in top cross genre acts from Buju Banton and General Levy to the Ragga Twins and Kenny Ken.

If you have never attended a Sunsplash event, this year is shaping up to be the year you go. Stay tuned for more information as the event draws near as Kmag will exclusively announce the full line-up and details of this legendary festival of peace, love and unity.
