Please introduce yourself...
I'm Ouzo from South London, Peck-nam, co-promoter of the Get Some event and blog. J Money is from the West Midlands but he's lived in London for the past six years. He's also co-promoter of the Get Some event and blog. We've been up and running six months now.
Where & when do your events take place?
Gramaphone in Shoreditch is our home, although we have had a night at the Book Club and we do collaborations with Monorex at the Queen of Hoxton. We are currently putting parties on alternate months. We like to space them out and give people something to look forward to!
What are the names of the residents?
Ouzo beats, J Money, Princess of Wales, Dark Arx, SSG and we are very happy to welcome the latest addition to our roster, Pictures Music.
What's the night all about?
Having fun! No chin stroking aloud! Fresh beats alongside club classics. Bringing together the best of old and new in a wicked venue and strictly positive vibes.
How would you describe your crowd?
Boys and girls who like to party! People who care about the music and want something a bit different from your standard fare, but at the same time aren't too proud to let their hair down and have a good time.
Who's played the best set at your club in the last six months?
Darkstar, Joy Orbison and Exel (Reggae Roast). Exel came down with a legendary Roots MC called Ishu, definitely gave us something we had never had before, great set! J Money's picks are Darkstar, Tred Bendedict and SSG.
What are your plans for the future?
More everything. Keep the ball rolling and build a solid following. We really believe in the music and what we are doing and hopefully more people will start to belive in us too.
Anything else you'd like to tell us about?
We have a great team of people working with us, not just at our nights. We have really insightful and talented people writing on our blog and it is a big part of who we are. The talents range from directors, journalist, technicians, marketeers, designers, musicians and label heads. This gives a real range of opinions and means we are consistently getting fresh points of view. It definitely keeps people on their toes.
Look out for our next event on June 19 at Gramaphone with headliners Pariah, R1 Ryders and Greymatter alongside the residents.
