Friday nights at Cafe 1001 have been a consistent source of free post-working week D&B relief for years now, particularly the fourth Friday of the month at our event. 2011 has seen us change the format slightly by bringing in some of our favourite crews to take over the night and put together the line-up with their residents and friends. Our next night on June 24th sees Fizzy in the house warming-up for their sixth birthday party. Fizzy resident MC Cliche tells us all about everyone on the line-up:

"Mr Joseph, the Fizzy founder, will be hitting the decks fresh from seeing his debut EP on the legendary V Recordings hit the charts and his debut album on Telluric. Recently his success has seen regular European bookings, so the chance to see him play for free in his back-yard is one to take up. Cafe1001's famous laid back vibe will be perfect for him to test out some new tunes and keep the summer vibes bubbling nicely with some trademark liquid beats."

 

 

"Andyskopes has been part of the extended Fizzy family for years now and he'll also be on hand to lay down some summer beats for the Friday evening early-doors crew. Having had releases on labels like Uncertified, Jerona and Fizzy's own Fizzy BEATS label, he knows what he is doing (not least how to set-up Serato in a hurry)!"

"DJ Izzy has been part of Fizzy since day one, and whether spinning dark techy beats, or her preferred Brazilian edged liquid, she will be sure to give the head-nodders something to think about and the one-leg skankers a chance to let loose."

"Soul Sinners have been friends of Fizzy ever since they realised we had a bucket of beer that they could thief from on stage, back at Fizzy's much missed Oh-Bar residency in Camden. Having since released dubstep and drum & bass on numerous labels and playing all over Europe, they will be down to give us something a bit different."

 

 

"I will also be on hand alongside MC Deefa to keep things firmly on the front foot whilst also shunning East London's alarming trend for skinny jeans!
