We've been promoting events at London's Cafe 1001 for over five years now and in that time the venue has become one of the best free venues in London. Our regular BarKnowledge night on the fourth Friday of every month has become so popular that we've decided to start another event at Cafe 1001. The new night will be on the first Thursday of every month and is called Kmag Presents. Like our BarKnowledge event, it runs from 7pm to midnight and entry is totally free.

The event will feature line-ups from some of the best record labels and DJ agencies around and for our launch night on June 2nd we present drum & bass / dubstep agency This Way Up with Cern, Dose, Cluekid, J:Kenzo and Midnight Games. We caught up the owner of This Way Up to find out a bit more about the DJs playing on the night...

Cern, who has recently relocated to London, has just seen his latest album Terminus released worldwide this month. Cern has had a number of high profile releases on some of the world's biggest drum & bass labels like Renegade Hardware, Critical and Project 51, and has DJed around the world to rave reviews.

Dose, now also living in London, has had releases on Renegade Hardware, Critical, Commercial Suicide and Project 51. 2011 sees Dose further his profile with releases on Dieselboy's Human Imprint and remixing artists such as Optiv, Concord Dawn, Jade & Mindscape.

InsideInfo's live sets showcase his own diverse production style which ranges from liquid rolling with a touch of tech to the neurofunk, twisting bassline hard hitting drums of tech. His mixing skills have been honed to perfection while playing locally in the UK but he also headlines shows around Europe.

Cluekid, owner of the Bullfrogs label, is well known for his jungle influenced dubstep and unique and expert production. An amazing DJ behind the decks, expect to hear fresh tracks and dubplates cut especially for the night.

J:Kenzo has had releases on some of the biggest dubstep labels around like Dub Police, Tempa Record and Argon, and is starting a new biweekly show on 1Xtra. J:Kenzo takes pride with his DJ sets which he is ever evolving and are built for the dance floor. Expect to hear sub heavy dubstep with echoes of jungle, dancehall and house.

Midnight Games has forthcoming material due for release on Heny G's Gangsta Boogie imprint and a stack of unreleased tracks ready for shaking dance floors. His sets are unique, progressive and structured with the crowd and dance floor at heart.
