Broken & Uneven is a night brought to you by the programming team behind The End and We Fear Silence. As you would expect that means each event features a diverse line-up and cutting-edge musical agenda. They launched in April with a series of dates and now they're back for the autumn with some more that they're calling The Hydra. Again they're keeping the venue secret, we spoke to them to find out what to expect...
You launched Broken & Uneven earlier this year with a series of dates, what's the night all about?
Predominantly and quite simply we are looking to promote events that represent what we are into musically (which covers a very broad spectrum of music) in interesting spaces that lend themselves well to being transformed into a fully functioning nightclub environment. Once that's sorted, we just want to put on good parties!
You're about to start an autumn/winter series of dates called Broken & Uneven: The Hydra in August, what can you tell us about it?
It really came about quite organically as we gradually built up a roster of events that we wanted to put on. It made sense to create an umbrella under which to promote them all together, especially given that we felt the majority of them would share a proportion of their fan base. There's house, techno, some bass-influenced stuff and d&b. It's as close to having a club right now as we can be.
It's taking place in "an undisclosed East London location", why the secrecy and what can you tell us about the line-up?
It's a combination of having to wait for the venue licence to be secured (via an application to the local authorities) which is usually fairly straightforward and done in good time but by no means a formality, but also it does help to create a little hype and anticipation which we always feel adds to the whole experience.
We have just announced the venue for our A Bunch of Cuts event this Saturday and posted up a few picture via Facebook - it's a brand new photographic studio that's never before been used for a party [see below] - and the response has been phenomenal. Apart from ABoC in the Series we also have German Techno Titans Ostgut Ton, Bleep.com, R&S Records, Boddika's Non Plus and more...

What are the line-up highlights for you?
A tricky one that - all are different, though I would have to single out Deviation's fifth Birthday (with Moodymann, Dam Funk, Hud Mo and Kode9) and the launch weekend.
You've also teamed up with Supremebeing for a limited edition range of T-shirts, how did this come about and what can we expect design wise?
I've known the guys for a little and been a fan of their label for even longer. We were keen to do something alongside this series that wasn't just about the process of putting on an event and that also gave the people the opportunity further affiliate themselves with the labels involved beyond just coming to the parties.
The designs will feature artwork from the flyers but with Supremebeing's experience and nous ensuring something stylish is produced as opposed to the club equivalent of a heavy metal tour tee. (Though left to our own devices that may very well have been the outcome!)
Beyond The Hydra what are your plans for the future?
We're really hoping to develop The Hydra into an annual fixture in the London clubbing calendar, so other than perhaps a few bank holiday events in the first half of 2013, we'll be working on upping the ante with next year - a few more events on a slightly larger scale, building upon the foundations we hope to have laid down this year.
Anything else you’d like to tell us about?
We share an office with the guys from Basslaced - keep an eye out for their own series of events at the end of this year.
