First off, welcome to the Knowledge 'CanaDNBa' blog! Up here in the great white north we've been abusing dance floors and selling-out bars for quite some time, and I'm very proud to have this opportunity to share the goings-on and further explore the depths of this great country's d&b scene through the 'pages' of Knowledge.

So, on to me then. I'm born & raised Canadian, having spent the better part of my life just outside the megacity of Toronto, Ontario. I was introduced to drum & bass and rave culture in 1998, shortly before a large shift in the way things are done here, the history of which I will touch on in later entries. As a young teenager, I was attending events almost weekly & thus began my love for the music, the people, the art, the community, and every little aspect that makes up the scene.  I've grown up with Toronto's d&b, and it's helped to shape and evolve me in more ways than I can count.

After picking up an audio engineering degree I put a strong focus on my DJing and production, and have maintained my spot as one of the proud advocates of Toronto's darkside drum & bass playing out regularly at events and club nights across the city. Under the name 'DCS905' I've thrown many successful nights, and by working with other promoters in the city I've helped diversify the type of drum & bass being heard in the metropolis. If I get my way, its work I'll continue for years to come.

Musically, I'm all about the darker-edged, hard, aggressive, techy sounds. I feed off the energy of the tracks, the people dancing and the lights vibrating, pushing me to give back every ounce during my performance. Screaming & yelling, making faces, chugging beers, waving my hands like a maniac, drum & bass is the only force in the world that can drive me to act this way, it does something to me. And I like it.

For the last four years I've been producing and hosting a legally broadcast  FM radio show with an intense focus on the evolution of darkside drum & bass. With support from the program director at Toronto's largest community radio station 'CIUT', the show 'DCS905 Radio' has become a renowned outlet for Canadian & worldwide d&b music with an aggressive edge. A roster of highly dedicated and respected resident DJs help provide even more exposure to the music we love, and keeps the show fresh on a weekly basis.
