Alpha-ville is a London based festival promoting access, understanding and enjoyment of quality digital arts and culture. The festival aims to create environments where people can engage with digital arts as well as learn about the role of digital technologies in today's society.
The third edition of the festival takes place in September 2011 and will focus on the theme of 'Zeitgeist: the digital shift'. Submissions are open from 14th March to 1st May 2011 and they invite all submissions that challenge the boundaries between art, design, technology and science.
Proposals will be accepted for the following categories:
- live music
- live AV performances
- art & multimedia projects
- moving image & film
- learning: academic paper, panel session, lecture & workshops
Entry details
- Artists can submit up to one artwork per category.
- General submissions via the online form.
- Submissions are accepted from individuals, groups and collectives.
- No entry fee.
- Successful applicants will be awarded with a small fee.
Requirements
- Submit an existing piece no longer than two years old.
- Submissions must address the 2011's festival theme.
- Technical requirements must be clearly explained.
- Please note that they cannot confirm the receipt of submissions. Artists will be contacted if they have been selected to perform at the festival.
